June 2010 Field Day

Field Day this year will be held at the Frederick Municipal Airport.  Our activity will be held in conjunction with the Airport's Open House on the 26th.

Everyone is welcome to participate.  Make a couple contacts, operate for a couple hours, or just visit.  An FCC license is not required, we will always have a licensed operator to supervise the activities.

THE PLAN
SETUP will begin about 1200 noon on Saturday.
ARRL Field day operations will start at 2 PM on Saturday and end at 2PM on Sunday.
Our station call sign will be the club's "K3ERM" call sign.
Plans at present are for two HF transceiver stations, and one VHF/UHF transceiver station.  We're intending to use teams of two people, one radio operator and one logging contacts into a computer (using the N3FJP logging software).
Station operations will be continuous throughout the entire 24 hour period.
Power will be provided by a SOLAR generator, and a backup gas generator.

THE PLACE
We will be set up near the flight school on the right of the airport parking lot.

ACCOMODATIONS
We will have tables, chairs, and a couple canopies.
Port-a-potties will be available,
There are lots of restuarnats nearby.
Sleeping overnight is not practical.
