FARC Turns Out for ARRL Field Day 2003

Frederick, MD, 28-29 June 2003 - The FARC ARRL Field Day contingent was active both days of this year's event. Here are a few photos of the activities.

Look for the sign up on Gambrill Park Road.
You can't miss it!

Operating in the big Chevy truck, Scott N3OK (aka "The Prez") zeroes in on another Field Day contact.

The Robertsons (Martha N3WVA, Scott N3MVV, Colleen and James) heat up the HF airwaves while keeping cool in the shade.
(Loo Green stands by in the background, in case anyone needs a break.)

Eric N8AAY takes a turn on HF sideband (and a cooling breeze from the fan).

Doc KA3KZH racks up the multipliers with his solar-charged, battery-powered QRP HF station.

Ol' Sol has turned in for the night, but Doc mans the QRP HF station into the wee hours.

Many Thanks to Doc for organizing and leading the FARC's 2003 Field Day effort!

Scott N3MVV returns for the night shift on HF, with Danny K3PBK working packet in the background.
(Thanks for the zombie impression, Scott, but we know you were WIDE AWAKE the whole time...)

OK, so it's not a Field Day photo, but here's a shot of Eric N8AAY and Jeff KB3FIO manning the radios in the Frederick County Mobile Command Post for the 1st annual Frederick Marathon, back in March '03.

(Thanks to ERIC N8AAY and Jeff KB3FIO for use of these photos)
